Create a free vCard QR code: when scanned, your details are saved to the phone's contacts in one tap.
A vCard QR code holds your digital contact card: name, company, job title, phone numbers, email, website and address. When scanned, the phone offers to save the contact straight to the address book, so nobody has to copy your details by hand.
It is the perfect companion to a printed business card: it takes up little space and avoids mistakes when noting down a number or email. It also works great in your email signature, at your booth or on a badge.
The more details you include, the denser the code. If you will print it small, keep to the essentials: name, mobile, email and website.
Leave a white margin around the code and do not print it smaller than 2.5 cm (1 in) per side so it scans easily.
The vCard is the QR type that holds the most information, and it shows: a contact with name, company, two phone numbers, email, website and address can have twice as many modules as a simple link. On a business card, set aside at least 1 × 1 in (2.5 × 2.5 cm). If you need it smaller, remove the fields you don't really need or use the MeCard version, which produces a less dense code.
On printed cards, classic black or dark blue on white is the safest choice. If your card has a colored background, print the code on a white box with a margin. Avoid metallic finishes and glossy varnish over the code: they reflect light and the camera can't read it. For an email signature or a presentation, download it as a PNG at a good size so it doesn't look pixelated.
Each type of code has its own generator with exactly the fields it needs. Pick the one that fits what you want to share:
It is the standard contact card format understood by phones, Gmail, Outlook and most address books.
Yes. The camera recognizes the code and shows the option to add the contact.
The details are stored inside the code, so if they change you will need to generate a new code.
You can put your website or main profile in the Website field. To show all your profiles, use the social media QR code.
Both store a contact. A vCard supports more fields (company, job title, several phone numbers, address, note) and is the most widely compatible. A MeCard stores less data but produces a simpler code that reads better at small sizes.
Not inside the code: a photo would take up too much space and the code would be unreadable. You can put your logo in the center of the QR code from the "Logo" panel and, if you want to show your photo, use the social media QR code.
The most common spot is the back, with a line like "Scan to save my contact". If it goes on the front, place it in a corner with at least 3 mm (1/8 in) of clear space around it.
