Create custom QR codes for links, WiFi, WhatsApp, social media, contacts and much more. Pick colors, shapes and your logo, and download them in high quality. Every feature is free.
QRcrea is an online QR code generator built so anyone can create a professional code in under a minute, with no technical knowledge. Choose what you want to share, fill in the details and the code is drawn instantly in the preview.
Use it to let customers open your website, join your WiFi, message you on WhatsApp, save your contact card or view your restaurant menu. The codes work with the camera of any Android phone or iPhone, without installing apps.
Before you design the code, think about what you want people to do when they scan it. This quick guide helps you choose:
A QR code scans well when the camera can clearly tell the dots from the background, so the most important rule is contrast: dark dots on a light background. Black, navy, bottle green or burgundy on white or cream always work; yellow, light gray or pastel shades on white often fail. Inverted codes (light dots on a dark background) are read by many modern phones, but not all of them, so avoid them in print.
If you use a gradient, make sure both colors are dark. Rounded dot shapes and corner frames don't affect scanning as long as you keep the contrast. Always leave the quiet zone: a clear margin around the code, with no text or graphics, at least four modules wide.
For size, think about the distance people will scan from: each side of the code should be at least one tenth of that distance. The more information the code holds (a full vCard, a long text), the more modules it has and the larger you should print it. Use this table as a reference:
| Where it goes | Scanning distance | Minimum size |
|---|---|---|
| Business card or label | 8–10 in (20–25 cm) | 0.8–1 in (2–2.5 cm) |
| Flyer, menu or table tent | 12–20 in (30–50 cm) | 1.2–2 in (3–5 cm) |
| Letter or A4 poster on a wall | 3 ft (1 m) | 4 in (10 cm) |
| Large poster or shop window | 6–10 ft (2–3 m) | 8–12 in (20–30 cm) |
| Billboard or banner | 16–33 ft (5–10 m) | 20 in–3 ft (50 cm–1 m) |
For print, download the code as SVG or PDF: they are vector formats and stay sharp at any size. If you only have a PNG, allow about 300 pixels per printed inch (300 dpi). Before printing the full run, print a test at actual size and scan it with two different phones, in low light and from the real distance people will be standing.
Each type of code has its own generator with exactly the fields it needs. Pick the one that fits what you want to share:
Yes. You can create, customize and download QR codes for free, with no paid plans and no watermarks. To download you only need a free account, created with your email or Google in a few seconds.
Static codes never expire: the information is stored in the code itself and works as long as the destination exists. Dynamic codes work as long as your account and the code remain active.
A static code stores the information directly and cannot be changed later. A dynamic code stores a short link that redirects to the destination, so you can change that destination at any time and see scan statistics.
Yes. In the "Logo" panel you upload your image and adjust its size and margin. Raise error correction to "Maximum (H)" so the code still scans even if the logo covers part of it.
For print, use SVG or PDF: they are vector formats and stay sharp at any size. For web and social media, PNG or WEBP are enough.
No. The camera on almost every Android phone and on iPhones with iOS 11 or later recognizes QR codes directly.
Yes. The codes you create are yours and you can use them on products, ads, packaging or any material for your business.
For close-up scanning, such as on a business card or a label, about 0.8 × 0.8 in (2 × 2 cm). For longer distances, use the 10-to-1 rule: a code scanned from 6 ft (2 m) away should be at least 8 in (20 cm) wide. If it holds a lot of information, make it a little larger still.
Yes, as long as the dots are clearly darker than the background. Dark blue, red or green on white scans perfectly. Avoid light-colored dots, dark backgrounds and photos behind the code.
The most common causes are low contrast, a size that is too small for the distance, no margin around the code, a large logo without Maximum (H) error correction, glare on laminated surfaces, or a link that no longer exists. Check these points and try again with another phone.
QRcrea offers 18 types: link, WiFi, WhatsApp, vCard, social media, Facebook, YouTube, text, email, phone call, SMS, location, event, app, PDF or file, restaurant menu and crypto payments, and you can add your logo to any of them.
